This is from the slut walk. One of the arguments is that girls ask for rape because they wear slutty clothes, short skirts, tight, low-cut tops. This girl is an example of the fact that rape victims can look like anyone, you, me, this girl. Rapists. Dont. Discriminate.
I promised a long time ago that I’d reblog this whenever I saw it on my dash. No regrets, it breaks my heart every single time.
an incredibly important message, rape is rape. no one is ever asking for it. a woman has the right to dress how ever they want - it is society that identifies risque dressing as ‘asking for it’, and in my opinion, that way of thinking needs to be diminished.
always reblog
That way of thinking shouldn’t be diminished: it should be destroyed.
always always always reblog.
very powerful.

Hey now….
- Your thighs are strong enough so that you can squat down and sit down.
- You only have one face, and you’re the ONLY one in the world that has that face
- Your legs are what get you walking around, when you’re walking through the park on a beautiful day or walking down the aisle at your wedding. They take you where you need to go
- Your eyes are what see how magnificent this world is
- There are many sick and dying people that wish they had hair daily and could have the health to be able to have hair. Be thankful for it!
- Your lips are what speak kind words, what you kiss with and feel that tingle throughout your entire body when you do, and what make you smile (which is the prettiest thing you can do) they taste and are unique!
- Your hands build and create. They touch and feel and are your gateway to the world
- Your scars show you’ve survived. It shows how amazing your body is to be able to heal like that
- Your arms hug, embrace, and are absolutely beautiful and amazing parts of your body
- Your stomach is what keeps your intestines in you and protects you. It has so many vital organs in there that you could not live without
- Your nose smells the smell of the outside after rain, the flowers when spring is starting, and the salt of the ocean.
- Your height is what makes you YOU. To be able to reach those items on shelves or to crawl under spaces nobody else could get to
- Your weight is something you can change, always!
- Your toes are what keep you balanced, and on those stormy nights when you’re sitting at home watching a movie and painting your toe nails, it’s relaxing. You dance with them, walk with them, stand on your tippy toes with them, and they’re what keep your flip flops on. :)
- You are so lucky to feel. Thank goodness you can feel. Being numb is the worst feeling ever. And you’re so lucky to be able to feel feelings that tell you where and what you need to do and go after in life
- Your eyebrows are so unique too, and you can do so many different shapes with them!
- Your cheeks are what blush when you’re happy or embarrassed, are what makes your face when you smile, and is where so many cute kisses go.
LOVE YOURSELF. don’t be insecure, your body is incredible.
